A busy August with family reunions and visits kept me out of the shop a lot so I am behind. I also decided to make a desk for my 15 year old grandson who is starting high school in Illinois this fall. First try at mortise and tenon furniture joints as well as drawer closed dovetails. There is a learning curve!!
I have two guitars close to going to finish. A Brazilian Adi OM with single sides and a Mahogany Lutz size 2 with single sides. They will go to The Podium but word has it they are already spoken for.
I delivered a double side Mahogany Adi 12F 000 Slothead to Twin Cities Guitarist Bill Hammond last month. It seems to have stuck. I’ll try to post some sound clips of his great playing later. Bill talked me into a tortoise rosette and I must say it looks very nice.
A double side Mahogany Lutz size 2 that former Podium owner Jeff Molde and I built together over the winter is back from finish. We should get the bridge on and string it up next week.
I am really excited to see how this one sounds.
That’s about it for now. I have several big repair jobs waiting after I get the current builds off to finish. I will probably not start any new builds until I get those done.
