I will be taking a double side size 2 to The Podium Friday May 8. Double side Mahogany/Lutz. Brazilian fretboard, bridge and headstock veneer. Rosewood binding.
This is my first double side size 2. I have a couple of good players in our area that have Rosewood and Mahogany size 2’s with single sides so we got together and compared sounds.
The double side was noticeably louder and had kind of a shimmer or edge the others did not have. It is definitely different. Better?? That depends on how your brain processes sound. Someone will like it . I sure did.
I have also finished a laminated 17” electric archtop. It has a mounted t.v.Jones neck position pickup and will have tone and volume controls on the body. A pickguard will be available if desired. This guitar should be at The Podium in about two weeks.
A double side Mahogany/Sitka OM and a 15” Mahogany/Sitka acoustic arch top are in progress. End of summer/early fall if all goes well.
