Welcome to the Kennedy Guitars website. I have been building steel string guitars since 1998. I started with Martin kits and later spent time with Charles Fox and have been building full time since 2003. My building philosophy is to create instruments based on traditional standards and design, but with modern touches such as carbon reinforced necks and a total bolt-on neck body joint. As a musician myself, my motivation is to build a great sounding and playing guitar that is still affordable for the working professional player and serious amateur. In keeping with this philosophy my appointments are generally tasteful but simple. Tonewoods and materials are first rate and I spend a great deal of time on setup and playability. I work both by commission and retail sales (see availability). The following pages show my current models, some testimonials from owners, my building process, and a page on jigs and tools that will be of interest to other builders.
